With its Easylon Analyzer Aachen based Gesytec provides a tool for diagnosis and management of LonWorks® networks, indispensable for each installation. The PC software captures the network traffic by a VNI network interface and thus offers extensive analysis possibilities. Using filters and triggers even rarely occurring events can be detected. The possibility to set variables in the automation network to provoke specified situations or solutions is particularly helpful.
The Easylon Analyzer can be used in any, even unknown network by reading the node information from the network into its database. During operation, it eavesdrops any telegram within the net and records them, if set so, and displays them in plain text, with node names and network variables.
The analyzer program is running under Windows 2000 or later on PCs fitted with a VNI interface for network access. Special advantages are offered by using Gesytec's Easylon VNI Interfaces: analysis tasks can be run in parallel to the usual LonWorks programs. Different from other VNI interfaces Easylon VNI allows to use the same network access with several programs without modifying them or changing the method of network access. As, in general, not all the messages are interesting for troubleshooting, specific filters can be set. The trigger function is helpful for sporadic errors that can hardly be reproduced. Telegram traffic is the recorded before and after a definable incident, specific to type of telegram, contents or communication relation. The Easylon Analyzer can list all nodes with status information and network variables and allows modification and setting of special values. A consistency report displays the status of the individual nodes, checks the unambiguousness of net and node entries and the consistency of the networks variables. Moreover, the unit allows inspecting the diagnosis and EEPROM cells of the Neuron chip.
