The GesySense Configurator is the tool for putting into operation the wireless sensor system. It is a combination of parameterization PC software, the “GesySense Manager”, and the parameterization adapter connected via USB. The latter connects the PC to the radio system. Held closely over a sensor the Configurator device inductively transmits the defined settings. Furthermore it communicates with receiver and repeaters in the 433 MHz band.
The parameterization software for Windows PC organizes all system components and is used to define and assign the settings. Installed sensors, all captured via radio and identified by the Configurator, can be assigned to organizational categories set by the operating company. Measuring intervals and transmission channel are defined. At transmission into the sensor a temporary test mode is initiated, helping in quality checking the whole system.
The receiver and the repeaters detected by the Configurator are organized accordingly and their receive and transmit channels defined. The quality of the connection to each radio component is displayed, which helps to find optimum position for repeaters.
The configuration defined with the GesySense Manager can be transmitted from the PC to the data logger. From there it is available to other systems for documentation and future maintenance purposes. On the PC the configuration is available in a data base.
