The GesySense Receiver/Repeater serve two purposes: Depending on parameterization the device is used as the system’s receiver or as a repeater.
The receiver is of central importance for the wireless sensor system. It collects all messages and transmits them to a data server via a serial connection. Information on radio transmission is added to each message by the receiver.
Usually the receiver will be installed close to the data server in a service room. Data transfer to it is using a simple serial protocol such as Modbus. Depending on the interfaces of the data logger the information then can be used locally or in centralized IT applications.
A variant is available string the data on a micro SD card in the device. This created .csv files can be e.g. read with GesySense LogIt or processed in other programs.
Used as a repeater, the device amplifies the signal from the sensors. It receives the messages on one channel and transmits them on a different to the receiver. Repeaters can be used in series in a transmission path.
Repeaters are mounted in a convenient place in the operating range, for instance unobtrusively behind a suspended ceiling.
